Online structural engineer is the most complex phases of a construction process. Defining them seems simple but doing it is extremely complex. Basically, this involves detailing the structural element for manufacturers, who in turn estimate the cost of the steel construction process used to build any structure. These detailed drawings include structural drawings, part drawings, assembly drawings, member list, beams and columns, design and assembly drawings, miscellaneous details such as handrails and stairs. These are just a few elements, simply put, this detail would contain all the elements that are required to build the structure efficiently.
It is mainly used in the field of high-end machine and plant
construction in addition to buildings. It is more convenient to use steel
details in areas where the steel elements are more rampant. Structures such as
heavy machinery, industrial structures, cooling towers, tanks, warehouses,
etc., must be constructed or constructed of structural steel. Apart from this,
this also requires more coordination on the part of manufacturers, architects,
and engineers. Structural engineers design with consideration of standard
structural codes for a particular country or state, demographics, loading, and
usage. After completing the design, Structural Detailing begins. It is very
vital that during the steel detailing process, structural engineers constantly
evaluate the detailing that is in progress to avoid complexities later on.
It is very important that the structural detailing is done
with high precision. It must be done in conjunction with the steel standards
for a particular location. There are several applicable standards for different
locations based on demographics and other conditions. AISC, BS, Australian
standards are some of the standards that are rampantly followed. These drawings
should show specifications such as dimensions, material specifications,
quantity (steel tonnage), number of members, and their sizes.
Manufacturing drawings with indusdesignworks and assembly
drawings are two sets of drawings based on which the entire structural
detailing process works. These drawings give an idea of the location of the
members and specific details of the members or materials used. Anchor plans,
connection details, etc., some aspects that are interpreted in this set of
drawings.
The fabrication drawings basically elaborate and explain the
requirements of each steel element used in the process by the manufacturers.
This was the most time consuming and complex because the error rate was much
higher compared to today. Then this was done in AutoCAD. Performing this
exercise in AutoCAD minimized the time consumption to some extent but did not
reduce the error rate.
